Art Student Attendance Policy
Purpose: To ensure that students enrolled in art courses maintain regular attendance, participate actively in class activities, and maximize their learning experience.
Attendance Expectations:
Regular Attendance: Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes and arrive on time. Punctuality is crucial to avoid disruption and ensure full participation in class activities.
Participation: Participation in class discussions, demonstrations, and other activities that contribute to the learning process. Active participation enhances both individual and group learning outcomes.
Professionalism: Attendance and punctuality are essential components of professionalism in the arts. Demonstrating reliability and commitment to class schedules prepares students for future careers in art-related fields.
Attendance Requirements:
Absences: Missed classes can usually be made-up on Saturdays. It is the responsibility of the student to schedule time with the instructor make-up for missed classes. Classes missed that are not made-up in the course time will be counted as absences. Students are allowed a maximum of [3] three absences per course. Excessive absences, beyond 3, may result in the student not being able to complete their project in the time planned or advance to other art mediums. If the student does not attend the first three classes in a course, their seat will be given to another student.
Tardiness: Classes are designed with a 15-minute set-up and discussion time. If a student is repeatedly later than 15 minutes to class, or if they arrive and do not set-up and settle within the expected time, they may be asked to remove themselves from the course.
Notification: Students are required to notify the instructor in advance of any anticipated absences or tardiness beyond 10 minutes whenever possible. In case of unforeseen circumstances, students should inform the instructor as soon as they are able to do so.
Conclusion: By adhering to this attendance policy, students demonstrate their commitment to their education and professional development in the field of art. Regular attendance, active participation, and punctuality contribute significantly to a positive and enriching learning environment for all students. I’m so pleased you are interested in taking classes and I look forward to watching your skills develop over time.
